My Y?

I was destined to become a weather forecaster. An aspiration I entrusted my sister with when I was 10 years old, as we lay on our backs in the grass looking at cloud formations, creating animals and whole new worlds from the shapes. I was rather taken with the idea of analysing weather conditions and wondering what could happen next? In the end, I studied psychology at university (not meteorology) and became a market researcher. After that, a strategic marketer and brand innovation strategist. Then an entrepreneur and business growth consultant. And then a lecturer in branding and innovation after that. Underpinning all these paths has been my love of combining knowledge and wonder.

Ever since, I have been shamelessly chasing my curiosity of how to combine creative inquiry with intellectual rigour and a deep understanding of human behaviour to optimise future potentiality. Like that ten-year-old, who wanted to become a weather forecaster. I still have one eye on the future with my feet firmly on the ground (but perhaps less need for an umbrella this time round).

With over two decades experience working in the health, beauty, fashion industries and higher education. I have worked for some of the UK’s biggest brands in companies such as Kantar Millward Brown, Walgreens Boots Alliance, Reckitt Benckiser, and Nottingham Trent University. As well as being a freelance consultant and mentor for SME’s and start-ups. I am described as a thinker and a doer, and live by a simple code - never stop learning, use your skills to make a difference and be kind to yourself and others.
